Bears-Eagles SNF Live Blog, Second Half

The Eagles might not have a whole lot to gain or lose by winning tonight, but they certainly aren’t playing like it. Seven minutes into the game, the Eagles were up 14-0 and the Bears defense looked about as feckless as they have the second half of the season. Not that they were doing a whole lot with the ball either.

With three minute remaining in the first quarter, Philly had a 4th and 1 not far into Bears territory. LeSean McCoy converted it with ease with an 11-yard run. A few plays later, it was 21-0 after a Brent Celek touchdown grab.

The Bears finally forced a stop four and a half minutes into the second quarter. At that point, Chicago was 0-for-3 on third down with 26 total yards. On the ensuing drive, they finally got the elusive conversion, with Jay Cutler hitting Alshon Jeffery for 13 yards on a 3rd and 10.

Chicago put a respectable drive together, but once it got into field goal range was pushed back to a 3rd and 28. The Eagles got another long drive that concluded with a field goal to push to a 24-0 lead. The Bears finally got on the board with a field goal in the final seconds of the half.

NBC announced at half that Cowboys-Eagles will be the Sunday night game last week. Of course, the way things are going, Packers-Bears will also be for a division title in Week 17.
