Twenty years ago today, legendary North Carolina State coach and ESPN personality Jim Valvano delivered one of the most legendary speeches the sporting world has ever seen. Delivered eight weeks before cancer took his life, there’s no shame in shedding a few tears for Jimmy V, no matter how many times we’ve all seen the speech. In fact, it’s encouraged if you’re moved to doing so.
