Earlier today, we saw the worst of dad behavior in the form of a guy who shot up his daughter’s laptop because he didn’t like something she posted on her Facebook wall. Frankly it had me down on dads, as I’m sure it probably did you too. If I were a commodities trader and dads were a commodity, I’d have spent the afternoon calling all my clients advising them to “SELL! SELL! SELL!” Dads were so out a few hours ago.
But then I happened across the Tumblr, “Dads on Vacation,” a treasure trove of user-submitted photos of, well, dads on vacation, doing the things middle-aged dads typically do on vacation: posing for goofy pictures. So, after the jump, I put together a small gallery of pics from the site that made me smile for one reason or another. These dads are basically every dad ever, doing their dad thing, instead of shooting up a hormonal teenage girl’s computer in response to her acting like a hormonal teenage girl. And just like that dads are still not cool — let’s face it they probably never will be — but they’re way cooler than they were earlier today. Enjoy.
