“Avoid Obi-Wan. Also, thermal exhaust ports should have grates. Make a note of that.”
Earlier this month, we marveled at filmmaker Jeremiah McDonald‘s video in which he had a funny conversation with his 12-year-old self about what he thought he’d be doing in the future, how much he loves Doctor Who, etc. We’re sure you’ve seen A Conversation With My 12-Year-Old Self already, as have well over seven million other people in just the past twelve days. Since it was charming and widely popular, the internet did what it always does to viral videos: made a Star Wars parody of it.
Awesomely-named New York City comedy group DrCoolSex created the “Star Wars Special Edition” of McDonald’s video. Instead of a 12-year-old inquiring about his pets while the 32-year-old version tries to remember what he did before discovering the Internet, DrCoolSex’s version follows a 12-year-old Anakin Skywalker hologram inquiring about his droids while Darth Vader ponders his obsession with Death Stars. They worked with Jeremiah McDonald himself, who has a Blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo near the end.
We have to call shenanigans, though. That cute kid isn’t even 1% as petulant as original Anakin kid actor Jake Lloyd, who is one of the many people who could complain that George Lucas besmirched his childhood but mean it.
By the way, he doesn’t like to be called “Annie” . . .
