The Internet’s 15 Tributes To Samuel L. Jackson

The last (half-) season of Breaking Bad could have been even better, if Samuel L. Jackson had his way.

Jackson randomly told us an Avengers anecdote that involved Breaking Bad. Both productions shot in New Mexico (“They shot in the studio right across from us in Albuquerque”). Jackson had hoped to walk into a shot in costume and order some chicken from Pollos Hermanos, but he said none of the producers would allow him. “I just wanted to order a three piece and really freak people out,” he chuckled. “Then people would be going, ‘Wow, was that him?” (Via)

Think of all the butts that would have needed to be held on to if that happened, despite it making no sense and probably being a distraction to the scene, because there’s no way Jackson wouldn’t have gloriously mugged his way to the foreground of the shot, yelled a few curse words, then vanished. It would have been great.

Alas, in 2012, we had to settle for Jackson in two of the most crowd-pleasing films of the year, The Avengers and Django Unchained, where, in his words, he plays Stephen, the “hated negro in cinematic history.” In honor of Jackson’s great year, we’ve compiled together 15 of the Internet’s greatest tributes (many of which feature the immortal Jules Winnfield) to the man known as The Guy Who Was Eaten By a Shark In Deep Blue Sea.
