Lucy and Anna DeCinque have already made headlines several times. First, they got hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of plastic surgery in order to look more like each other. Then, the twins revealed to the world that they share one boyfriend. Now, they’ve got even bigger news for the world, something that may make other twins green with envy (if they weren’t already).
According to Metro, the DeCinques are “massive” in Japan. But it’s not because they’ve got bubbly personalities and charming accents, it’s because they’ve just been named the world’s most identical twins by the producers of a television game show.
The twins, who traveled to Japan to compete in a show which pitted twins against twins, didn’t think much of the other siblings on the show, especially because none of them were as close as Lucy and Anna:
‘They would go to the shops without each other. See, we wouldn’t do that. We wouldn’t leave each other by ourselves. And they didn’t sleep in the same bedroom,’ the girls said.
Well, it’s possible that none of the other twins share a boyfriend, but that kind of synchronicity is exactly what helped the ladies win the competition:
After even a computer couldn’t tell them apart, they won the coveted title of World’s Most Identical Twins.
‘It’s been proven in Japan and they did the challenges and we proved we are the world’s most famous identical twins,’ they said, adding: ‘It’s a great tag line for us.’
Besides looking like identical, the DeCinques also do everything together, eat the same amount and split a pay check. Their boyfriend, Ben Byrne —whom they call “the chosen one”— hasn’t yet commented on his girlfriends’ win, but the last time he was interviewed he told reporters that he was delighted by having two girlfriends, even if it does take a lot of stamina.
“It’s a cool problem to have,” he admitted.
