Bryan Singer Is Making Room For More Battlestar Galactica

A couple years ago, we heard Bryan Singer was producing (possibly directing) an Excalibur remake. At the annual Sitges Film Festival, Singer told SFX that his version of Excalibur is being shelved because another King Arthur project is in the works at Warner Brothers. He didn’t seem too bothered by it, as he says, “it allowed me to go straight into developing Battlestar Galactica – which I think will be really exciting.” Mark your calenders. Today is the first and hopefully last time Singer ever said he would “go straight”.

As for Battlestar Galactica, the first question we had was, “Spare any change?” but the second question we had was, “Which version?” For the second query, Blastr has the answer:

Singer’s version will have nothing to do with Ron D. Moore’s recent successful take on the classic sci-fi series, but will rather be a re-imagining of Glen Larson’s 1978 original series, with Larson on board as a producer.

We’re still waiting for an answer on the first question. Come on, guys. We need it for our grandma’s lumbago operation or whatever. Totally not for drugs.
