Malia Obama, the eldest daughter of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, ruled the Internet for a time when her photo showed up on somebody else’s Instagram account in January. Now she’s making headlines again, and again it’s not because of anything she actually did. Instead, it’s because of the offer that’s been made for her hand in marriage.

That’s right, folks. According to The Nairobian, a young Kenyan lawyer named Kiprono has a special offer for the President:

“People might say I am after the family’s money, which is not the case. My love is real,” he said, adding that, “I am currently drafting a letter to Obama asking him to please have Malia accompany him for this trip. I hope the embassy will pass the letter to him. I will hand it over to the US Ambassador with whom we have interacted several times.”

In addition to Kiprono’s professed love for Malia, which dates back to 2008, he’s also promised the President a substantial dowry for Malia’s hand in marriage. Specifically, the young lawyer is offering 70 sheep, 50 cows, and 30 goats.

This obviously isn’t going anywhere. However, all things being equal on the Internet, the original story’s comments section is a wonder to behold. At the time of this writing, most participants have either decided that Kiprono is a pedophile, a prankster, or is simply vying for attention.
