PETA Members Allegedly Stole A Little Girl’s Dog And Killed It

Prepare to get angry. Last month, the Cerate family’s pet chihuahua Maya went missing from their Virginia home. Obviously upset by the theft, Wilber Cerate went to his security camera footage for evidence and that’s exactly what he found. The family’s pet dog was stolen from their front doorstep by none other than PETA. From Wavy:

He noticed Maya missing when he got home one Saturday in October. “My chihuahua, when she sees my car, she come to me,” Cerate said. “That Saturday she did not come.”

Cerate checked his security camera and the video shows a van with “PETA” on the side back into his driveway. Two women got out of the van and one walked up his porch, took Maya, and put her in the back of the van.

“I was angry. I understand they pick up my dog, if it was in a tree or another place, but this is in my house,” Cerate said. (Via)

To further pour salt in the proverbial wound, the two workers returned to the scene of the crime three days later with a f*cking fruit basket and the bad news — little Maya had been put to sleep. Even though there wasn’t any proof offered to back up this statement, Mr. Cerate went to the Accomack County Police and filed his complaint prompting Sheriff Todd Godwin to charge the PETA workers with larceny.

The People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals? Right… I understand the pursuit of rescuing stray dogs, but this is ridiculous. Further, the charges against the two women were quickly dropped due to a lack of evidence even though theft of one’s dog in the state of Virginia is considered a Class 5 felony.

Where’s the justice?
