Right now, President Obama is blazing a moneymaking trail in L.A. in hopes of drumming up funds for the Democratic Party, but he’s also making one other stop while in Hollywood: Marc Maron’s garage. The Prez will be the comedian’s guest on his WTF podcast Friday morning, with the taped episode to debut on June 22. President Obama has already shown that he and his team are tuned into the tastes of the younger generation in the country with appearances on Between Two Ferns and his comedy routine with one half of Key and Peele.
WTF with Marc Maron has long been one of the top podcasts on iTunes and is generally considered one of the best podcasts, period. The format is usually a one-on-one interview where Maron explores the history and psyche of his guest to comedic and sometimes cringeworthy fashion. It remains to be seen what exactly the two will chat about, and it’ll be interesting to see if Maron applies his infamous screws to the president as he’s done to past guests.
