Remember when Brock Osweiler was with the Denver Broncos? It seems like 100 years ago that he took over for old/bad Peyton Manning before giving way to Manning for a Super Bowl run. Manning retired and Osweiler, feeling somewhat disrespected, left the Broncos to sign with the Houston Texans as a free agent.
Aqib Talib, however, does not care about Osweiler’s potentially hurt feelings. Via Bleacher Report, Talib had this to say:
“You’re a backup quarterback, then that’s your job title. … And then when starter comes back, you back, backup again.”
Yeah! I guess. I never heard anyone say that to Tom Brady, but whatever. Talib seems upset. Let’s respect his feelings.
The retirement of Manning and departure of Osweiler have left the Broncos with Mark Sanchez as the only potential starter on the roster now. Will they trade for Colin Kaepernick? Maybe. Will they sign Johnny Manziel? Who knows. But if the Broncos add Manziel, Talib has complete confidence in the magic of a veteran locker room to cure Manziel of all his problems.
“If Johnny comes out there with us, we [have] a good group of vets out there,” he said to ESPN’s Ryen Russillo and Danny Kanell, via Mike Freeman. “We’ll take care of him.”
There you go. If you party a lot and reportedly threatened to kill your girlfriend, the sage wisdom of a guy who farts on a reality TV show will turn you around.
