Season 42 of NBC’s sometimes-celebrated and often-criticized comedy franchise Saturday Night Live kicks off on Oct. 1, and we can expect some changes from the previous season. For starters, Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider have been promoted to co-head writers, while Mikey Day, Melissa Villaseñor, and Alex Moffat join the cast. Their work is already cut out for them following the departures of Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah, who were fan favorites since joining the cast in 2010, and the show will also be without Jon Rudnitsky, who came and went so fast that even the most devout SNL viewers will probably shrug.
On top of it all, the season premiere comes at a time when the 2016 presidential election is producing comedy at a rate that is making our heads spin, so the writers and players are facing the uphill battle of being funnier than reality, something that not even Matt Stone and Trey Parker are sure they can handle. However, a great step in making sure we’re entertained is adding hosts and musical guests that we love, and the first two episodes of season 42 have that covered.

As you see in the above tweet, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda is signed to host the second episode of the season with musical guest Twenty One Pilots. That episode will air on Oct. 8, while the season premiere will feature host Margot Robbie with musical guest The Weeknd on Oct. 1. As far as Miranda’s SNL gig, we can probably expect a Donald Trump musical number that will go viral before the episode is even over.
