LeBron James Congratulated Dwyane Wade On Getting Traded Back To Miami

The Cleveland Cavaliers made some moves on NBA trade deadline day, retooling most of their team around LeBron James in an effort to get younger and hopefully save their season.

While arguably the most notable move was trading Isaiah Thomas to the Lakers for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr, the team also pulled off a huge three-team deal that netted them Rodney Hood and George Hill. A compliment to that three-team deal is moving Dwyane Wade back to Miami, where he started his career 15 years ago.

All this movement means a potential Isaiah Thomas revenge game is looming when the Lakers and Cavs play in March, but don’t expect similar vibes when the Cavs and Heat play on March 27. James broke his social media silence on deadline day to congratulate Wade on his return to Miami, enthusiastically endorsing the move the Cavs made to trade his longtime friend out of town.

James infamously courted Wade to Cleveland after his release from the Chicago Bulls shortly before the season started, and for a while the two got along swimmingly for the Cavs. But nothing has worked out exactly as the team has hoped this year, and with some huge defensive issues and a team getting older and seemingly slower by the game, Wade left on Thursday is part of an in-season rebuilding effort.

It seems there are no hard feelings about the move at all, which is good. James is happy. Gabrielle Union is happy. So that means Wade is probably happy, too. It’s a feel-good story on what is often a hectic and heartbreaking day for some NBA players.
