Eric Bledsoe Didn’t Take Kindly To DeMarcus Cousins Wearing Warriors Shorts

When word broke that DeMarcus Cousins elected to sign a modest, one-year contract with the Golden State Warriors, NBA players erupted with surprise and bewilderment. It is easy to see why, of course, as the reigning NBA champions certainly don’t need a multi-talented All-Star big man to go with a roster already overflowing with talent.

Still, the reactions have slowed down just a touch with the benefit of hindsight, as Cousins likely won’t play until the calendar flips to 2019 and will likely operate as more of a supporting piece in Oakland as he attempts to fully recover from an Achilles issue.

That didn’t stop former Kentucky teammate John Wall from reacting violently to the news, though, and that was seemingly the case from another former Kentucky standout, Eric Bledsoe, over the weekend.

Bledsoe was captured filming Cousins in a pair of Warriors shorts and he had a (very) clear message for his college teammate.

It has to be noted that Bledsoe and Cousins are friendly (former teammates at Kentucky) and, well, this might not be overly serious. With that said, there is probably a sizable contingent of NBA players that would express the same sentiment in a more direct tone and the sight of Cousins in Warriors gear might take some getting used to in the near future.

In the grand scheme of things, there are scenarios in which Cousins landing with the Warriors does not, in itself, shift the balance of power in the league. If he’s healthy and back to his old self before April and May, however, things could be even more terrifying in favor of Golden State than they already were and the combination of anger and jealousy could, again, sweep through the Association.
