The Warriors are missing Klay Thompson with an ankle injury right when they’re trying to put the finishing touches on the best record in the NBA for the 2014-15 season. At the same time, Stephen Curry has been in a bit of an offensive funk recently, so it was nice to see him score a game-high 24 points in last night’s 106-91 win over a hot Jazz team.
We’ll add this miracle layup while falling to the court to his long list of circus shots:
Before last night’s 8-of-18 (3/6 3pt) shooting from the field, Steph was connecting on just 31 percent from the field and 27.1 percent from deep in his three previous games. It’s a testament to Kerr’s group they still won all three games, with Andre Iguodala, Harrison Barnes and others stepping up in Klay’s absence.
The Warriors are deep, and they’ve been relatively healthy all year before Klay twisted his ankle. They’re gonna need every piece of their arsenal in the Western Conference playoffs, but it’s nice to have Steph’s magic as backup.
