Things have gone from bad to worse for the Atlanta Hawks.
After Kyle Korver suffered a right ankle injury in last night’s Game 2 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team has announced he will miss the postseason’s remainder. Via Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
BREAKING: Kyle Korver is OUT for the remainder of the playoffs with ankle injury.

Vivlamore also reports that Korver will undergo further medical testing to determine whether his injury is best treated by surgery.
The sharpshooter sustained the injury while going for a loose ball with Matthew Dellavedova late in the third quarter. Note the extremely awkward angle at which Korver’s ankle bends as it gets caught under the Cavaliers guard.
Already in a deep hole down 0-2 as the series shifts to Cleveland, the Hawks’ straits are suddenly even more dire. DeMarre Carroll is still limited by a knee injury he suffered in Game 1, and Al Horford came up limp during Friday night’s contest, too. Though both players will be available for tomorrow’s must-win matchup, that they’ll play at less than full health would always be very concerning for Atlanta – whether Korver was available or not.
Only four teams have ever rebounded from losing the first two games of the Conference Finals to ultimately emerge victorious. And as injuries continue mounting, the Hawks’ chances to become the fifth appear less likely than ever.
