Following yet another magnificent performance in Game 3 of his team’s 96-91 win that saw the Cavs take a 2-1 series lead over the Warriors, LeBron James sat down at the SportsCenter desk with his former teammate Dwyane Wade for an interview. Despite not having a journalism degree that we’re aware of, Wade’s questions were thoughtful, and James’ responses provided actual insight as to how he’s feeling and what he’s been going through.
A couple highlights included Wade asking James what his mindset is at this point, adding that the focus he sees from his former teammate is even better than when they were together in Miami and made it to four-straight NBA Finals. James admitted that being under-matched and counted out, he and his team are playing as if they have nothing to lose.
James also said he was upset after finishing third in the MVP voting this year. However, he would not admit to that being his “other motivation.”
Wade has hinted that it’s possible he may opt out of the final year of his contract with the Heat and become a free agent later this summer. The continued camaraderie and friendship these two obviously still share makes it fun to speculate whether or not this interview foreshadows a reunion on the basketball court.
