The Los Angeles Lakers picked D’Angelo Russell with the second pick in the draft.
The Ohio State product is considered by many the best point guard/combo guard in this year’s draft class. He averaged 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5 assists, and 1.6 steals during his freshman season on 44 percent shooting from the floor and 41 percent from downtown.
The Lakers needed a point guard, and they got the one most thought was the best in the draft.
