The rich get richer. Or in this case, free agent forward David West has apparently turned down a briefcase full of cash in order to sign with the San Antonio Spurs for the veteran’s minimum. Here more from NBA.com’s David Aldridge.

West opted out of the one year remaining on his contract with the Pacers worth $12.2 million in order to pursue a championship. And after the LaMarcus Aldridge signing, nobody is set up better to challenge the incumbent Golden State Warriors for the Western Conference crown and then an NBA title better than the San Antonio Spurs.
