The slice of fried gold you see above was the intro video to the Cleveland Cavaliers’ “Hardwood Classics Night,” which they held on Thursday night. The occasion was also marked with retro graphics on their Jumbotron and these throwback uniforms:

Roy-al James is pretty good, Disco Delly is good, Fozie Mozie is all right, but Kevin “Doctor” Love is amazing. All of them pale in comparison to Shumpty Shump or Downtown (Sasha) Kaun, though. Those are inspired. Apparently, this is the first Hardball Classics night of a series, with the next one coming on December 1. Better snatch that up now, because if word spreads about how amazingly Quicken Loans Arena handles the 1970s, that might be a very hot ticket. Hopefully they produce a new video with more dancing (maybe a reference to “aNYway“), but even if they don’t, I could watch that one all day. Even if it’s just an excuse to listen to “Jungle Boogie” again.
