For the fourth year in a row, the McDonald’s All-American jerseys will feature short sleeves. McDonald’s and adidas unveiled the threads that the nation’s top high school basketball prospects will be wearing during the showcase at United Center later this month.
As you can see above, the men’s set includes a black and white uniform, each featuring pinstripes and red accents to “celebrate Chicago’s iconic sports history.” As is the case with many of adidas’ college uniforms this year, the jerseys feature shoulder blocking that blends into the collar, while the shorts feature bold striping underneath the waistband.
Here’s a look at the ensemble that will be worn by those participating in the dunk contest:
I will say, after an initial rapid rejection, the game jerseys have grown on me a little bit. I still will always prefer sleeveless jerseys, and I definitely think the shoulder blocking is awkward, but I do like the pinstriped approach. As always, it’s tough to get a full read on uniforms until you see them on the floor, but — as of right now — overall, I’d say the women’s jerseys are better.
Here’s a look at the sneakers that will accompany them:
Players will lace-up the latest adidas basketball footwear including a limited edition colorway of the D Lillard 2 and D Rose 6 signature shoes from NBA All-Stars Damian Lillard and Derrick Rose. Each shoe has red, black and white Primeknit threads, black detailing treated with a metallic gloss finish, yellow accents and a camo-print outsole while the McDonald’s All American Games logo is featured on the tongue.
You can see all of these in action during the 39th Annual McDonald’s All American Games on March 30.
