Chandler Parsons made no secret of his desire to be wined and dined during what might be the wildest free agency period in league history. But the Memphis Grizzlies’ July 1 offer, apparently, was too good for the talented swingman to pass up.
According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas, Parsons has agreed to four-year max-level contract with the Grizzlies. The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports the deal is likely worth $94 million.

Whether or not you believe the 27-year-old is worth a maximum salary, it’s undeniable his acquisition is a major coup for Memphis – not only because of the team’s longstanding deficiencies on the wing, but also because of what it means for Mike Conley. It’s highly unlikely Parsons would have agreed to grit and grind without an assurance from basketball’s marquee free agent floor general that he’d remain with the Grizzlies, too. On Friday morning, ESPN’s MacMahon reported that the pair had discussed playing together in Memphis.
Will Conley be the next domino to fall? It certainly seems that way. The next question to consider is if Parsons – who’s a notorious injury risk, by the way – can finally help the Grizzlies get over the hump in the Western Conference.
We’ll begin to find out next fall.
