Charles Barkley was on the Mike and Mike Show on Wednesday where he thanked the Golden State Warriors because the rest of the league is just “awful” right now. That wasn’t all from the Round Mound of Rebound.
Barkley also said he believes that Cleveland still has a chance to win the title, but added a caveat right after that seemed to malign the entire Association — save the most elite teams.
“I’m not no old guy hating you know, but unless Golden State is playing the Clippers, Cavs, Oklahoma City or the Spurs, I’m not going to watch a full NBA Basketball [game], It’s not very good basketball.”
He went on to say that he loves the NBA, and that he hopes for more competitive balance.
Barkley also thinks Lebron James’ return to Cleveland is the best story he’s encountered in his 30-year career. He said he roots for Cleveland just for that reason.
Charles also added that he hopes Kevin Durant stays in Oklahoma City when he becomes a free agent this summer, and emphasized how important it is for cities like Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Boston to have good people on their rosters. He doesn’t want the league to just have four good teams like he seems to feel now.
