NEW YORK – Chris Bosh didn’t get his three-peat in June, but totally made up for it on All-Star Saturday from Barclays Center. The Miami Heat All-Star and two-time champion teamed with Dominique Wilkins and Swin Cash to win the Degree Shooting Stars for the third straight year.
The champs beat a team of Russell Westbrook, Penny Hardaway, and Tamika Catchings on the Human Highlight Film’s halfcourt make with 57.6 seconds on the clock:
Unfortunately, Wilkins’ heave wasn’t quite as dramatic as Bosh’s piggyback ride made it seem – Westbrook’s squad never made the 46-footer in the allotted 90 seconds, affording Team Bosh a very comfortable win.
But Wilkins sure seemed excited after the victory regardless. In response to Kenny Smith insisting that Bosh and Cash carried the Atlanta Hawks Hall-of-Famer during the past two contests, Wilkins let his competitive juices continue to flow.
“I have a message for Kenny: Look at my track record, I didn’t get 26,000 points on dunks alone,” ‘Nique said. “You catch my drift.”
We sure do – just as easily as he, Bosh, and Cash caught a third Shooting Stars title.
