No. No. No.
DeMarre Carroll went down in a heap immediately after this extremely awkward landing during the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. While we never like to speculate on the severity of potential injuries, it bears mentioning that the Atlanta Hawks swingman didn’t take contact from another player as his left leg hit the floor and buckled.
Carroll was helped to the locker room by team trainers without putting any weight on his leg. TNT’s David Aldridge reports Hawks officials have diagnosed him with a left leg injury and are holding out hope it isn’t of a career-altering nature.
In addition to being his team’s most viable defender of LeBron James, Carroll has also been Atlanta’s best and most consistent performer throughout the postseason. Worse: The 28 year-old is a free agent this summer.
We’ll keep you updated as news on his status becomes available.
