Dwight Howard’s Outfit On ‘The Jump’ Got The Internet Back To Roasting Him

Dwight Howard has been working on his range on the court this offseason, but maybe he should limit his fashion range off it. Howard wore a Levi Strauss-approved outfit during his appearance on Thursday during an ESPN appearance that lit up Twitter.

Howard appeared on The Jump to “respond to his critics” but everyone wanted to talk about the outfit Howard wore on live television instead.

“There have been a lot of people coming at you over the last 48 hours,” said Rachel Nichols, who clearly had no idea the kind of reaction Howard’s outfit would garner. Because, as it turns out, Howard was a dead ringer for Debbie Gibson.

Others thought he was taking on a distinctively cowboy look.

Either way, it made many want to hang out in the food court of a John Hughes movie.

OK, one more 80s burn.

Fashion is indeed cyclical, and this was definitely a look in the early aughts as well.

Roth later went back to the well here and he didn’t miss.

Still, this is barely in the Top 10 of weird things that Dwight Howard has done, making some wonder if he knows what he’s doing here.

This is also a great reference to one of the best roasts in Twitter history.

Also, this was from Wednesday but it’s important to note and it made the rounds again after Dwight got his Clarissa Explains It All on for a national television audience.

As far as his three-point development, Howard said people took his initial statements and made it a bigger deal than it actually was.

“I wasn’t saying I’m gonna go out every night and start jacking up threes,” he said. “That wouldn’t be smart for me. That wouldn’t be smart for my team to allow that to happen. But for me just to expand my game. It’s not just about shooting threes but shooting mid-range shots and really just opening up the floor for myself, making me better.”

It’s good that Howard is willing to take a risk and work on trying new things. Maybe this outfit shouldn’t have been it.
