The Washington Wizards lost their fourth straight game tonight against the Indiana Pacers on a positively confounding play that left George Hill wide open for the game-winning layup. With the game tied at 101-101 in the final seconds, the Wizards botched their pick-and-roll coverage while Hill made a beeline for the basket.
Credit Pacers’ forward David West for providing the misdirection on this play as he faked a high screen on John Wall giving Hill just enough of an opening to sneak by both Wall and Nene for a virtually uncontested lay-in.
Hill flirted with a triple-double as he finished with 29 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in his match-up against Wall, who scored a game-high 34 points to go along with six assists and four rebounds.
