You remember Gerald Green, right? You may not, seeing as how, thanks to illness and suspensions, his court time hasn’t exactly been consistent this season. If you don’t, well, you’re in for a treat, because against the Knicks in the first quarter, Green set out to remind everyone just how high he can get.
Green is one of the few players in the NBA who genuinely seem more at home in the air than on the ground. His vertical is insane, obviously, but just as impressive is his hangtime and his ability to contort himself mid-air. Just look at how he twists and adjusts for that put-back dunk. He does the same thing later on, only instead of a dunk, he adjust and sinks a tough layup.
Say whatever you want about Green – say he’s streaky, say his defense is porous, say his effort is inconsistent. When it comes to his leaping ability, there’s not much more you can say besides “wow.”
