The Golden State Warriors have arguably the best uniforms in the NBA. Their logo is essentially perfect. You can’t really improve on the Warriors’ uniforms. However, that doesn’t mean Golden State isn’t susceptible to the siren song of merchandise sales. They were one of the first teams wearing sleeved jerseys, after all. On top of that, though, Golden State will be kicking it old school by wearing throwbacks to the Run TMC era in 2016-17.
On six Sundays this season, the Warriors will don jerseys that were worn by the team during the era of Run TMC. “Run TMC,” of course, is the nickname that was bestowed on the high-scoring trio of Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, and Chris Mullin. They were not together for a long time, but their impact on Warriors fans was immense.
Before the current Splash Brothers era, Run TMC was arguably the most beloved time frame in Golden State Warriors history. Maybe the “We Believe” Warriors are up there, but you’d be hard pressed to find anybody with fondness for that jersey.
