Syracuse closed out its game against Gonzaga on a 9-1 run over the final three minutes to propel itself to the Elite Eight with a 63-60 win. The Orange defense really sparked this run, as Gonzaga’s final two possessions that weren’t full-court heaves ended because of a steal and a block by Syracuse’s Trevor Cooney and Tyler Lydon, respectively.
Syracuse will face Virginia on Sunday in a game that you will absolutely want to watch if you like watching teams play nasty defense.
