The Jamal Crawford Summer Pro Am this weekend in Seattle saw Kobe Bryant stop by to take in the action; Bean was also in town to play in Richard Sherman‘s celebrity softball game. Crawford took a few minutes to introduce Kobe before he came into the gym, and that’s when compared Mamba to Michael Jordan.
“This generation’s Michael Jordan,” was the phrase Crawford used to introduce Kobe Bryant.
While some Jordan acolytes — we’re probably one of them — are sick of any comparison to His Airness, Kobe himself has modeled his game after the man many consider the greatest of all time (GOAT). The similarities between the two are pretty eerie as a YouTuber showed with his second such video comparing the two back in August of 2013.
As we showed then, Kobe even resembles MJ when celebrating a title win:
Regardless of Kobe and Jordan’s similarities, it was the emcee and host, Crawford, who probably had the most MJ moment of the day when casually sank a long-range buzzer-beater to win the game.
Is Kobe this generation’s Michael Jordan?
