During Memorial Day Monday’s Game 4 between the Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors, Joey Crawford was calling the game. If you’re unfamiliar with the veteran NBA official, click on his name and get caught up.
Crawford tripped over his own legs while calling a Hornets-Raptors game in mid-April. We all laughed at his plunge because Crawford is one of the more maligned referees in a profession where any sort of fame is usually a bad thing.
Fast-forward to last night, and another Crawford tumble on the court, except this time he was hustling after a fast break so he keeled over even harder:
Let’s check that out in slow motion (at the top of the GIF):
On this occasion, we feel sorta bad for Joey, who also injured his knee earlier this year and had to have surgery. Monday night’s stumble came when he was trying to get in a better position to make a call, which is a good thing. We’re gonna chalk this one up to the dangers of the profession rather than laugh at his inability to run/walk without falling.
Stay strong Joey.
