Poor Joey Crawford. The irksome referee, who is all about the me over being a good referee, was minding his own business along the sideline of last night’s 92-87 Raptors win over the Hornets, when he tripped and hit the deck along the far sideline.
If you’re an avid NBA fan, you can probably come up with your own list of Crawford gripes, but our own issues came to a head when he almost tossed a mop boy.
Crawford, 63, is the NBA’s oldest ref after NBA septuagenerian and Chuck smoocher, Dick Bavetta, called it quits before the season started.
He injured his knee earlier this year in a non-contact moment during a Clippers game, but he’ll always been known for his odious on-court decisions.
He’s back on the court this season, and despite his earlier injury and the nasty fall last night, it’s hard not to feel fellow official Tim Donaghy got at least one call right.
