Kobe Bryant granted Ellen DeGeneres his first post-retirement sit down interview this week and they discussed all the expected topics — such as Kobe’s 60-point performance in his final game, the emotions that came with it, his relationship with Shaq, and the few weeks he has experienced since his pro basketball career came to an end.
Oh, and he pranked an innocent aesthetician by convincing her that he has a massive sweating disorder.
Ellen and Kobe don’t exactly seem like a comedy dream team, but the two worked pretty well together when it came to pulling off the absurd prank smoothly. DeGeneres fed Kobe his lines through an earpiece the entire time while Kobe followed his orders and put on an excellent deadpan performance the entire time.
As for the poor aesthetician, she didn’t seem to have any clue what the hell was going on — not that anyone can blame her — but she certainly did her best to reserve any judgement or laugh at how outrageous Kobe’s “problem” was, which is very professional of her! It takes a special kind of person not laugh in someone’s face when they say they’re retiring because their co-workers won’t stop calling them “Sir Sweats A Lot.”
