During the regular season, the Wizards boldly decided to heat up their beef with the Celtics by dressing in all black prior to the game like they were starting a funeral procession. It was a potentially foolish endeavor, given that it obviously could’ve backfired spectacularly, but luckily for them, they went on to win that game 123-101.
The Celtics tried to get a little payback in Game 6 by arriving at the Wizards’ arena wearing their own funereal attire, but that didn’t work out too well for them, and they eventually had to go back to Boston to close things out in Game 7 on Monday. Now, they’ll face the Cleveland Cavaliers in a battle of the top two seeds vying for the Eastern Conference crown and a chance to make it to the Finals.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, LeBron James decided he might as well keep the sartorial-related rivalry trend going.

LeBron’s never been afraid of taking passive-aggressive shots, whether they’ve been directed at rivals, the media, his own organization, or even his own teammates. Granted, the leprechaun is the same logo for his high school team, the St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish, but you’d have to get up pretty early in the morning to convince me it isn’t a not-so-subtle shot at the last remaining squad standing in the way of his seventh straight trip to the NBA Finals.
