The NBA is rolling out plenty of new garments next season, and Andrew Lind of The Tidewater News was kind enough to upload them for the world to see. The Milwaukee Bucks new uniforms and those gracing the Philadelphia 76ers remain the premier redesigns. Jabari Parker and Giannis Antetokounmpo will be a pleasure to watch both from a basketball and an aesthetic sense, but we’re too classy to talk tanking when it comes to the Sixers. Conversely, the Clipper uniforms still look like Steve Ballmer designed them himself.
Washington joins Houston as the only team in the NBA with a Chinese New Year uniform, after the Dubs rocked one last season as Adam Silver’s quest for global dominance moves another step forward. The NBA is also aware of how much nostalgia can affect fans. The hardwood classic jerseys make a glorious return to the forefront, and the Indiana Pacers will be clad in Hickory High’s finest. Golden State’s “The City” jersey should never fall out of their rotation, even as they move from Oak-town to across the Bay; those are a work of art.
Lastly, the NBA needs to take those pride uniforms and make a huge bonfire with them. Sleeves have no place on a basketball jersey.
