Let me start out by saying Quentin Richardson is the man. He always has been, and always will be. With that said, he got a raw deal in last night’s preseason game against the Heat. After a little bumping between him and LeBron James, this play should have resulted in a double-technical. Instead, Q got the personal foul and T’ed up.
“I don’t care if you’re The King or whatever,” Richardson told Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel after the game. “You put your pants on just like I do.
“He still got 27 points, but you have to let him know that he has to fight for them. That it ain’t gonna be a walk in the park.”
Assuming Dwight Howard stays in Orlando all season, I like what I’m hearing from Q-Rich and the possible ramifications it can have down the line. While I don’t see it turning into the next DeShawn-LeBron, it’s always good to have guys on your team that won’t back down.
