Kevin Garnett’s Area 21 program has never been more relevant than after a viral meeting of the minds featuring five members of the 2008 Boston Celtics on Monday evening. While there were plenty of fireworks from the quintet throughout the broadcast, the headliner was that the group talked extensively about the longstanding beef with Ray Allen.
In short, the crew lamented Allen’s decision to move on to Miami but, more than that, they spoke negatively about the way that Allen exited Boston and how it hurt them personally. At any rate, Allen seemingly wasn’t very happy with the way he was discussed during the segment and his official, verified Facebook page posted the following in the aftermath.
Last night the stars of the '08 Celtics title team went on TNT but specifically left out Ray Allen. This morning, he responded (on Facebook) pic.twitter.com/zTi6G3wH5g

Now, though, Allen is claiming that he was hacked and that the apparent jab at Rajon Rondo and his former teammates did not actually come from him.
Ray Allen's publicist now tells me Ray's verified Facebook page was hacked, that he didn't post Celtics-clapback pic. FB unverified the page https://t.co/ELMW5fx4u0

The original post has been deleted and, as noted above, Allen’s Facebook is no longer verified by the social network. Still, this is awfully convenient timing and Allen’s reaction would have been very understandable given the way that his former teammates framed the discussion around their unwillingness to reach out to Allen to mend fences.
It will certainly be interesting to see what, if any, reaction comes from Ray Allen publicly on this subject and it is a very safe bet that he will be prompted about this the next time he comes into contact with a microphone and/or camera. Until then, we are left to wonder.
