Russell Westbrook Can Do What He Wants, And Doesn’t Need Kevin Durant To Keep Singing In The Car

I don’t think there is any doubt that Russell Westbrook is ready for next season. The Thunder point guard is the preseason favorite to win the MVP and he’s clearly motivated to show Kevin Durant that he made the wrong decision by going to Golden State.

Still, Westbrook is also making sure to enjoy his offseason on social media after opting not to play with Team USA in Rio. Westbrook has already played around with Snapchat and found a Harry Potter filter, and now he’s giving the fans a show on Instagram as well.

On Friday, Westbrook posted the above video to his Instagram account with the caption “Friday’s mood. #whynot, and it features him driving shirtless (at least he was wearing a seatbelt!) and rocking out hard to “Do What I Want” by Lil Uzi Vert.

It’s entirely possible that Westbrook just loves the song, but it’s tough not to take something out of the repetitive lyrics as well. With Durant gone, there is absolutely no one to stop Westbrook from doing what he wants in OKC next season, and even though the team likely won’t contend for a championship next season, we will get to see Westbrook be able to take over as the franchise’s unquestioned leader.

Just make sure you’re keeping your eyes on the road there, Russ.
