Steve Kerr Goes All-In, Calls Out LeBron And The Refs In His Post-Game Presser

The Golden State Warriors had their second opportunity to close out the NBA Finals on Thursday night, but were thoroughly outplayed by the Cavaliers and fell 115-101, forcing a Game 7 to be played on Sunday night in Oakland.

It was blatantly obvious who the better team was in Game 6, as the Cavs basically dominated from start to finish, save for a few Warriors runs that got them within striking distance. LeBron was playing out of his mind on both ends, and Golden State just looked totally out of sync.

Still, that hasn’t stopped the Warriors and their fans from feeling like they got ripped off. Golden State believed there were some phantom whistles that went against them in crucial spots, most notably against Steph Curry, which eventually led to him losing his cool and throwing his mouthpiece.

Ayesha Curry took to Twitter to say the game was “rigged” and while Steve Kerr certainly didn’t go that far, he had some harsh words for the officials in his post-game press conference calling three of Curry’s six fouls “absolutely ridiculous.”

As Yahoo Sports columnist Dan Wetzel points out, those comments will almost assuredly hit Kerr in the wallet, but it will be worth it to him if he gets the officials to call more infractions on the Cavaliers in Game 7.

While Kerr made sure to point out that the officiating wasn’t the reason they lost the game, it’s extremely questionable for him to endorse Curry throwing his mouthpiece, especially when it ended up hitting a fan. It remains to be seen if Kerr’s statements will have any effect on the officiating in Game 7, but in the meantime, he will assuredly be getting a phone call from the league office.
