Plane rides can be boring. The USA basketball team has had to find something to occupy themselves on said plane rides several times over the last few weeks, and so far we’ve seen them spy on each other while guys try to sleep. Now, they’ve apparently taken up karaoke. While that’s not all that surprising, their choice of song certainly is.
Apparently, Team USA (more specifically DeMar DeRozan, Kyrie Irving, and Jimmy Butler) are big fans of Vanessa Carlton’s smash hit “A Thousand Miles,” which is a great song in its own right but definitely not one I would expect anyone on Team USA to know all of the words to considering it came out in 2001. Butler in particular really got into the singalong.
While most of the team seemed to enjoy the performance, Carmelo Anthony, who is far too old for this nonsense, was having absolutely none of it.
“A Thousand Miles” wasn’t the only song that they sang, though (which I’m sure Melo was thrilled about). The rest was documented through Draymond Green’s Snapchat account.

Butler’s taste in music is especially interesting, as he sang along to some country music and appeared to play Linkin Park? Also, a special shout out to Kevin Durant for doing everything he can to stay warm on the plane. Draping a blanket over his head like that makes him look like E.T.
