The NCAA tournament got off to a good start, huh? In a battle being billed as big brother versus little brother, Dayton’s Vee Sanford hit a runner off the glass with under ten seconds to play to take out Ohio State, 60-59.
The 6-seeded Buckeyes trailed for much of the game, and fell behind by seven midway through the second half. But a key late foul from Shannon Scott–on a three-pointer, no less–and a wild miss at the buzzer from Aaron Craft overshadowed a fantastic drive and reverse finish from Craft (16 points, four steals) that gave Ohio State a lead with 17 seconds left.
Eleven-seed Dayton was paced by Dyshawn Pierre with 12 points while Sam Thompson dropped 18 in a losing effort for Ohio State.
Anyone else already hating the Madness? I had the Flyers… and then at the last minute switched back to Ohio State. My head hurts.
