Back in 2014, South Park took the ego of fantasy RPGs down a notch with The Stick of Truth, and now they’re taking on superhero movies with the new RPG, The Fractured But Whole. As the above trailer shows, Cartman and his classmates are on a very important mission to create a new billion-dollar superhero movie franchise, but that’s easier said than done. Who gets to kick off the universe, and who ends up stuck on Netflix? Nobody can decide how to plan out their fictional superhero civil war, leading to a real civil war. As you can already tell, the meta humor is going to be thicker than ever in this one.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole also introduces some new gameplay innovations. You have more freedom to customize you character now, and the revamped battle system now focuses more heavily on movement. Oh, and you can also rip apart the fabric of time and space with your farts now, because South Park.
In a cool gesture, anybody who pre-orders South Park: The Fractured But Whole will get themselves a PC, Xbox One or PS4 copy of The Stick of Truth totally free. If you missed out on The Stick of Truth, you can start catching up on South Park‘s snarky brand of role-playing right now.
What do you folks think of South Park: The Fractured But Whole? It’s looking pretty promising to me, but I think I need to lie down for a minute – the main character’s origin story hit me kind of hard.
