Vulture has revealed new details about X-Men: Days of Future Past on the same day that director Bryan Singer has tweeted out two new pictures. (Spoilers coming.) We’ll get the the pictures in a moment, but first, let’s reveal which villains Peter Dinklage and recently-cast Josh Helman will be playing.
Vulture says Dinklage is playing Bolivar Trask (no surprise there) and Helman is playing Bill Stryker, previously portrayed by Brian Cox and Danny Huston. Vulture also explains how X-Men: Days of Future Past differs from the comic, in which Kitty Pryde sends her consciousness to the past to stop an assassination which will lead to a dystopian future.
In Singer’s take, Ellen Page returns as Kitty […], but this time she uses her powers to send Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine back into the past, where he encounters the younger mutants played by James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Michael Fassbender. However, something bad happens to Kitty during the time-travel trance, and while Wolverine is still under her spell, the other X-Men must race to find a mutant who can siphon Kitty’s powers and bring their friend back to the future. Could that be the plot development that brings Anna Paquin’s power-copying Rogue into the fold once again? [Vulture]
Or you could just leave Wolverine in the past, since he won’t age anyway, and then he can remake X-Men Origins: Wolverine as a movie that doesn’t suck.
Finally, here are a couple of pictures tweeted out by Bryan Singer. He’s previously tweeted out a batch including the picture above, some foreshadowing, Michael Fassbender levitating, and Jennifer Lawrence in her Mystique bodysuit. Now comes an official confirmation that Lucas Till is returning as Havok.
