The newest honest trailer from Screen Junkies takes on Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and it’s enough to make any hipster proto-millennial fly into a Vegeta-like rage.
“Indulge in two hours of pure nerd wish fulfillment where a guy with no personality, the face of a toddler, and the body of a stretched-out toddler, hooks up with tons of girls, kicks Captain America’s ass, makes a lesbian orgasm to death, and plays DDR with underaged Asian schoolgirls who are obsessed with him. Man, no wonder the internet loves this movie.”
It’s really starting to sound like they hated it. I don’t know about this, you guys.
“Experience the definition of style over substance.”
Oh, now we definitely have to fight…
“But when Edgar Wright is doing the styling, who cares?”
Okay, I forgive you. We’re friends again. Yay! Let’s play DDR and experiment with our sexuality.
Seriously, though, who can hate this movie, despite the rejected better ending and acerbic, difficult-to-tolerate characters? It brought us Chris Evans as Lucas Lee. His most poignant performance, I might add.
