Playing the more mature (well sort of more mature) characters in the series, Jennifer Coolidge and Eugene Levy have enhanced the “American Pie” franchise with their intimidating comedic experience. They’re both reprising their roles in this month’s “American Reunion” and HitFix recently caught up with the duo to see what their favorite “Pie” memories are.
Levy and Coolidge have both shown their hilarious improv skills in the mockumentary films of Christopher Guest (“Best in Show,” “A Mighty Wind”), and Levy discusses how he and Jason Biggs (who plays his son, Jim) got back into the “Pie” groove by improvising lines.
Coolidge talks about her status as a pioneering “milf,” noting that it’s “nice to play someone horny.”
The pair reminisce about the original film (way back in the 20th century) and share how impressed they were with the acting skills of the then-rookie cast.
“American Reunion” reunites the duo with Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari, Tara Reid, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Seann William Scott, Shannon Elizabeth and John Cho.
“American Reunion” opens nationwide April 6.
