Lost in the wonderful news about horny Florida teens rioting over sold out shows, fans uncontrollably masturbating in theaters, or women evacuating their bowels (and cinemas in the process) is the fact that the future of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie franchise isn’t looking so hot. For starters, director Sam Taylor-Johnson won’t be returning for Fifty Shades Darker, and author E.L. “SnowQueen IceDragon” James has demanded control of the script. The solution? Have her husband, Niall Leonard, handle the screenplay duties. However, I’m not sure if he’ll have the luxury of “borrowing” ideas from a creative community of Twilight fans.
Regardless, Universal Pictures is so confident that everything will be fine with Fifty Shades Darker that the studio not only released a “first look” at Christian Grey in the 2017 sequel, but it also included the above “teaser trailer” with the DVD and Blu-ray, which will be released on May 8. As for the story, the sequel will reportedly be “more of a thriller,” so maybe Christian and Anastasia will team up to solve the mystery of the missing believable sex.
