It’s been four years since the last Gorillaz album, not that Damon Albarn hasn’t kept busy. Blur reunited, released a well-received album, and played a few shows, and he released his first solo album, Everyday Robots. He was most recently lifted off the Roskilde stage and brought into a recording studio, where Albarn and Jamie Hewlett will work on a follow-up to The Fall.
Albarn said, “I’m starting recording in September for a new Gorillaz record. I’ve just been really, really busy so I haven’t had a chance. I’d love to just get back in to that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week.” (Via Pitchfork)
This is a better confirmation than “Yes Gorillaz Returns.” Anyway, at this rate, expect new albums from The Good, the Bad, & the Queen and Rocket Juice & the Moon any day now.
