Apple Music can claim yet another major victory. Just days after it was announced that Frank Ocean would release his long-awaited album Boys Don’t Cry on the service, the platform scored another major pop star. This time, it’s Britney, bitch.
Yes, Britney Spears‘ ninth album, Glory will be released as an Apple Music exclusive on August 26, with a wide release in the following weeks. Spears recently released the single “Make Me…” which is extremely likely to make the final tracklist. Also likely to appear on the album is the unreleased single, “Private Show,” which could become the second single from the album. That song will be available as a download along with a pre-order of the album at midnight on August 3. It’s worth noting that the release of Glory is just two days away from the MTV Video Music Awards, which could be setting us up for yet another memorable VMA moment from Britney.
Glory will be Spears’ first album since 2013’s Britney Jean, which was the lowest-selling album of her career, but did spawn a major hit with “Work Bitch.” This exclusive release is yet another win for the Apple Music platform. Between this, Frank Ocean’s new album, and their deal with Taylor Swift, they’ve gone a long way in establishing themselves as a major platform that can easily hang with the likes of Spotify and Tidal.
