These days, pop punk is too often associated with the likes of (bad) blink-182, the Offspring, and Good Charlotte. Pop punk = mall punk; pop punk = Hot Topic; pop punk = Tom DeLonge still telling the same poop and ball jokes, even though he’s nearly 40 years old. But beginning today, pop punk = Chumped, and that’s very much a good thing.
Noisey’s Dan Ozzi put it best: “There is something instantly likeable about it. Chalk it up to the killer female vocals, the feeling of collective youthfulness, or just the fact that it is catchy-as-hell.” Or all three.
